This is a thread for Tokyo Mew Mew and all Tokyo Mew Mew fans can talk about the series here!
I have to say I kind of like the manga a smidge better than the anime. The 7 volume length makes it lot tighter and more compact. The fillers in the anime make it feel way too bloated. I like the art in both, however. It's very cute. ?
One thing I liked about the manga is how Ikumi's artwork stayed consistent. The whole manga practically screams late '90s Nakayoshi-style. ? But Ikumi's really great at drawing those chibi-styled characters.
I hope that as well!Is anybody happy about the two brand new Tokyo Mew Mew manga series coming out this year? I know I am and I heard that there's going to be a new Tokyo Mew Mew project being made too. I just hope that the new project would be a reboot anime series.
Wait, so, is it a new manga coming, or is it a new anime? And if it's a manga, will it be drawn by Mia Ikumi again?

Sooooo one of them is a gender-bent version of the original, and the other is a two-part one-shot. That's... a little underwhelming in my opinion.
I don't mean that those projects will be bad, in fact, they do have potential, but yeah... seems to be very little for such a beloved franchise.
On a more positive note, maybe it's the sign that more content based on Mew Mew is on the horizon?
