Chapter 260: Much To Do With Bob McHugh!: Welcome To Numb3rs! (Part 1)
"Hello there viewers, Shinko here...*I proceed to say this, while also proceeding to smile with both of my light blue eyes closed. To which I then proceed to open both of them back up again, in order for me to continue, to properly address the viewers*...Now then viewers, as I am sure you read from the previous chapter, our current situation has taken on a real world setting. More specifically viewers, me and some of the still present members of The Four Aces Alliance, have now ended up in the real world. Or in this case, the crime drama tv series 'Numb3rs.' Now before you viewers want to go and attempt to question this? I will just clue you viewers in with a little bit of foreshadowing. Because as I am sure all of you well knowledge induced Black Lagoon anime fans know. One Revy and Catherine for this matter as well, have been wanted for some time by the NYPD's 27th Precinct over in New York. Now while there is no real 27th Precinct in the real world, one such Precinct does exist in a well known and long running crime drama tv series. And for those of you who know of which one? Then you will now understand the rationale as to why me and some of my allies now find ourselves in Numb3rs. But we will get to more of this in the current chapter. But for now, and as usual viewers, a mandatory chapter recap is in order...So viewers, let us now get on with that chapter recap, shall we?...*I proceed to say this, while also proceeding to smile with both of my eyes closed in a very cute looking manner*"

Okay, so getting back to the currently still ongoing situation, as well as the currently still ongoing battle at hand. Which was just after I had finished my end of chapter fourth wall break from the tail end of the last chapter. And this was also just after me and the rest of my still currently present allies of The Four Aces Alliance had wound up in the anime canon timeline of Infinite Stratos.
And also after the sudden and not planned at all arrival of both Mithril Sergeant Sousuke Sagara, and one well known Whispered Kaname Chidori. Both of whom were from the Full Metal Panic anime canon timeline.
But, with what was about to happen a short time from now, was going to make what had happened to me and the rest of my allies of The Four Aces Alliance, once again pale in comparison to everything that had already transpired so far.
And, as a way to help hammer this clear and obvious fact home. Suddenly, out of the blue, and seemingly out of nowhere...
"Oh come on, again?!" I then suddenly heard Keiko yell out quite audibly from out of seemingly nowhere. Which during her having said this exact same statement of hers, Keiko had proceeded to say it, with quite a bit of audible displeasure in her tone of voice.
And sure enough, when I had proceeded to turn both of my light blue eyes towards the direction in which Keiko had projected her voice. I was met once again, by an all too familiar and also quickly onrushing wave of bright white light. Which, as it proceeded to quickly wash over the area. To which it then once again proceeded to temporarily blind all of us. Something then proceeded to happen, that I wasn't prepared to witness.
Because like all of the other times that this had happened, I was preparing myself for whatever form of anime canon timeline that we were about to end up in next. But, unlike all of the other times that this had happened, because as for where we were about to end up in next? Well it wasn't anything even remotely anime.
Because as the bright white light had proceeded to die down, I was then able to notice, that instead of what was obviously an anime styled setting that I had ended up in. This time however, was what appeared to be a somewhat vast, and also very real looking real world setting. Which as I then proceeded to look down at both of my hands, I then realized something very shocking. Because both of my hands, along with the rest of my still female form, were now that of what someone would usually looking like as a regular human being in the real world setting. But, as I then also proceeded to notice a small piece of light blue hair in part of my field of vision. I then realized, that despite me now being in a real world type setting, I was still stuck as Shinko Hanasaki.
And as I then proceeded to turn and look behind me, I then realized something else quite shocking. And that was when it came to me looking like a regular human being that one would look like in the real world, I apparently wasn't the only one of my allies who had also ended up in this current setting.
Because as I proceeded to look behind me, I was able to notice several individuals, which from just looking at two of them, I realized that they were both Keiko and Misaka respectively. Only like myself, they had now changed slightly to better fit our current real world setting.
But then...
"What the heck just happened?! And why do my hands look like this?!" The unmistakable voice of one Usagi Tsukino had now proceeded to briefly shout out, only to quickly elicit a response from Rei Hino, who like the rest of the Senshi, had also changed to fit our current real world type setting, and along with several of my other allies that were still currently present. It was then that I also realized, that while most of my allies had once again vanished, along with Catherine, Revy, Benny, and Dutch. The ones that had remained, were me, Momoko, Yuri, Hinagiku, Scarlet, Usagi, Ami, Rei, Makoto, Minako, Hotaru, Haruka, Michiru, Setsuna, Sakura, Zachary, Li, Keiko, Misaka, and finally Keiko.
But, as for where it was that we had ended up this time, what with it now being a real world type looking setting rather then the usual anime type setting? Well you see, about that...
"Caught someone following me all day, was wondering when you would close distance. You pull your trigger I'll pull mine...last chance Yardley!" A somewhat gruff sounding male voice had then proceeded to say somewhat aggressively to someone else. Who from what I could instantly tell, was not happy with what they were doing.
And it was only then, that I realized just where it was that we had all just ended up. But, what happened next, which though it was sudden, was what would help shift things in our favor.
Because even before another word could be uttered by either individual. I was then able to pick up what sounded like a muzzle flash. But the only thing was, it was from a slight distance away. Which was then followed by what sounded like a high caliber sniper round proceeding to make a very distinct sound, that sounded like it had passed clean through someone.
And sure enough...
"What the hell was that?!" The male voice now proceeded to briefly yell out.
And then...
"Oh I'm sorry, were you not finished with your conversation?" The unmistakable voice of Hotel Moscow Sergeant Boris had now proceeded to say to the male who had just witnessed the other man getting instantly killed by the high powered sniper round from Boris' Dragunov. And as for how Boris was able to talk to this man from somewhat of a distance away? Well it was because before me and my allies had ended up in this current real world setting, Boris with the help of Balalaika and several more members of Hotel Moscow, had managed to patch themselves into the earpieces of the male who had just witnessed the death of the man he was trying to get to stand down. Along with at least one other individual who was also using this type of earpiece communication.
But then...
"Who is this?! And how did you get on this frequency?!" The male voice from before had now proceeded to respond to what Boris had just said to him. And from how this male voice sounded, they had now become quite visibly agitated.
And as for who this male was? Well, as I proceeded to look towards the direction in which the male's voice had come from. Both of my still very light blue eyes, then proceeded to quickly fall upon a male with short dark hair. Who also appeared to have what looked like a type of sniper rifle in his possession, that was currently strapped to his back. And only a couple of feet in front of him, was a male now laying face down in the grass, with a bullet wound straight through the back of his head.
And as for who these two were? Well about that...
"Okay, so that's one way to announce Hotel Moscow's arrival isn't it viewers? Oh right, Shinko here, sorry about that...*I proceed to say this, while also proceeding to smile with both of my light blue eyes closed. To which I then proceed to open both of them back up again, in order for me to continue, to properly address the viewers*...So yeah viewers, I bet that you weren't expecting this now were you? I mean after all, it's not everyday that you read about anime characters ending up in the real world, now do you? Now then, for those of you who need me to bring you all up to speed? Let me now properly welcome you all to the real world setting of the crime drama tv series known as 'Numb3rs.' Yes indeed viewers, more specifically season 2, episode 22 'Toxin.' And the two individuals you just read about? Well one was FBI Quantico's elite sniper Ian Edgerton, played by Lou Diamond Phillips. And the now dead man who is lying face down in the grass thanks to Boris? Well that is, or was in this case, one Bill Yardley, of Graybridge Pharmaceuticals. So viewers, as for those of you who are wondering where Revy, Catherine, and the rest of Lagoon Company disappeared off to? Well we will be covering that in a later chapter, okay?...*I proceed to say this, while also proceeding to smile with both of my light blue eyes closed. To which I then proceed to open both of them back up again, in order for me to continue, to properly address the viewers*...But anyway viewers for right now, this does once again in fact now currently mark the end of this current chapter. Okay, so getting back to the currently still ongoing situation from the last chapter. Which was just after I had finished my end of chapter fourth wall break from the tail end of the last chapter. And this was also just after me and several of my still currently present allies of The Four Aces Alliance had wound up in the real world live action setting, of the well known TV crime drama series known as Numb3rs.
But, with one hired gunman Bill Yardley having been taken care of by one Hotel Moscow's Boris. This had now shifted things into me and my allies favor, because with what I was about to offer to Ian Edgerton and to that of another important main character in the Numb3rs TV series. This was going to enable me and everyone else to make it through however many episodes stood between both us, and the next potential timeline that we would all end up in.
And so, with this thought very much on my mind...
"Pardon the interruption agent Edgerton, but what if I told you I know all that there is to know, of the situation that you're in right now? And more importantly, what will happen to you and those whom you're associated with with 100% accuracy?" I now proceeded to say over to Ian Edgerton with what was possibly the most sincere and polite tone and expression that I could give at the moment, given the circumstances.
And then...
"And what makes you think that I..." Ian Edgerton then proceeded to say over to me with in response. Only for me to cut him off midway through his response.
"Okay where do I begin. Well, you're currently involved in an investigation with one Graybridge Pharmaceuticals. You're currently the fourth best sniper in the world. But more importantly the man you were just speaking with just saved one cattle rancher Bob McHugh from being shot with a high caliber sniper bullet. Now then, what else would you like me to tell you about next agent Edgerton? Should I give you the winning numbers for the lottery for the next few months? Or should I perhaps let you know of the clear and obvious fact, that when it comes to a certain CalSci mathematician, that professor Eppes is now not the only one, who is able to perform multiple complex calculations? But yet they can perform them, at a faster speed then the current average supercomputer? So here's what I have to offer you and agent Eppes. I can give you with close to 100% accuracy, what you and your colleagues will wind up facing. But mind you, that it will be in the form of bits and pieces. Because some parts will be somewhat vague. And in return, you allow us to be consultants for you, as well as the rest of those that are part of Eppes FBI team. Because I can assure you Ian, that what we have to offer you, is something that you won't find in the usual real world setting. So Ian what do you say? Do we have an accord?" I then proceeded to say back over to agent Edgerton with in response. Which during this, I had then proceeded to hold out my hand in anticipation.
And, as I had intended with my statement, Ian wasted no time in shaking my hand. And as for me, and my response back...
"Good, now then..." I proceeded to start to say. But then...
"McHugh! McHugh listen to me, MCHUGH?!" Another male voice had proceeded to shout out. Which from what I knew, was one FBI agent Don Eppes.
And then...
"Well Ian, shall we now go greet the locals? Because I think that it is now time for me to show you, why you just made one of the best decisions you'll ever make. So minna, shall we?" I now proceeded to say, as I also proceeded to turn behind me and glance at the rest of my allies that were present. Who all simply wound up nodding back to me in response.
And so, a short time later...
"Ian, what took...Wait, who are you guys?" Agent Don Eppes proceeded to ask, as he then took immediate notice of me and the rest of my currently still present allies standing a couple of feet behind Ian.
And as for me, and my response back...
"Well agent Eppes, think of us as consultants for you and your brother. Because I think that you find..." I then proceeded to say. Only for Don Eppes to then proceed to cut me off midway through my response back to him.
"What do you know about my brother?" Don Eppes then proceeded to say back to me in response with. As I then took immediate notice of his facial features then proceeding to tighten up slightly. Which gave me the indication, that he was skeptical on what it was that I had to offer. But that, was about to change...
"Well where do I begin agent Eppes? Ah yes of course, you used to play for a baseball team named the Stockton Rangers. Your brother Charlie Eppes was able to determine the amount of walks you would get just by looking at your stance when you were at bat at the plate. And that agent Eppes is only a fraction of what I know about what you've already been through, and what still awaits you in future cases that you and your team will encounter. So think of me and my allies, as psychics. Only we're what you would call the real deal. So Eppes, if you allow me and my allies to consult for you, and your team. Then we will provide you with unique information, into each of your upcoming cases. So agent Eppes, do we have an accord? Because if I am not mistaken, you have a cattle rancher to round up, am I right?" I then proceeded to say back over to Don Eppes with in response.
And as I had intended...
"Hey Ian, can I talk to you for a second?" Don Eppes then proceeded to glance over to Ian Edgerton with saying.
And as for me...
"Yeah so there isn't time for that right now? Because your person of interest is currently standing in an ammunition and ordinance dumpsite. So unless you both want an unplanned fireworks show, then I suggest that you both save the private conversations, until after he's out of danger and in your custody, okay?" I had then proceeded to say back to both Ian and Don in response with.
And so, another short while later...
"If anyone comes through that gate, the dump goes and the forest goes with it!" The somewhat agitated voice of one Bob McHugh proceeded to say. Which was while he was holding a lit flare stick in one of his hands, and what appeared to be a loaded revolver in the other. And while he was also currently standing on top and in the middle of the ammunition and ordinance dumpsite, that had been mentioned previously.
And then, as for me and the rest of my allies that were still currently present...
"Okay seriously? So this is the big plan you both came up with? You're just going to sit here and hope that he doesn't blow us all up? Because forgive me for saying this, but I don't think that an FBI van is going to do much good against a possible explosion! In fact you know what?..." I now proceeded to say, as I then proceeded to simply stand up, use my athleticism to forward flip over the top of the chain link fence, and then stick the landing on the other side.
And then...
"Why don't I just show you, why you both made the right decision in accepting my terms of agreement," I then proceeded to say, while I also proceeded to glance back towards everyone else who was still on the other side of the chain link fence that I had just proceeded to forward flip over effortlessly.
And then...
"Excuse me Mr. McHugh? I have some information that I think that you'll find useful to your current situation. Did you know that the beef that you have been eating for most of your life is living proof of Graybridge Pharmaceuticals having sold you tainted antibiotics? Now to sump this bit up Mr. McHugh. Graybridge hired a gunman, who shot one of the negotiators during a standoff that you had at your ranch. And they were hoping that you would die in the gunfire. So, why don't we put down that flare, along with your weapon, and we go and reunite you with your wife, hmm?" I proceeded to say to Bob McHugh. And sure enough, my tactic worked.
Because about a minute later, with me then having Bob McHugh escorted out of the dumpsite by both me and agent Eppes. I was now entirely confident, that me and the rest of my still present allies, were now poised to smoothly sail through the rest of the series.
But what I didn't know as of yet, was that we would have quite a long way to go, with regard to our current situation regarding one Aleister Crowley.
"But for now viewers, Shinko here again by the way...*I proceed to say this, while also proceeding to smile with both of my light blue eyes closed. To which I then proceed to open both of them back up again, in order for me to continue, to properly address the viewers*...Now then viewers, as for me and my allies current situation regarding Aleister Crowley? Well we're going to be taking a bit of a break from that. Because with just how many episodes of Numb3rs we will be covering. This is going to be quite the involvement with the tv series. As in the upcoming chapters, will be covering every single episode, from this one, which is Season 2, Episode 22 'Toxin,' to Season 6, Episode 16 'Cause And Effect.' So think of this viewers, as a slightly different retelling of sorts, of the Numb3rs crime drama TV series okay?...*I proceed to say this, while also proceeding to smile with both of my light blue eyes closed. "Pardon the interruption agent Edgerton, but what if I told you I know all that there is to know, of the situation that you're in right now? And more importantly, what will happen to you and those whom you're associated with with 100% accuracy?" I now proceeded to say over to Ian Edgerton with what was possibly the most sincere and polite tone and expression that I could give at the moment, given the circumstances.
And then...
"And what makes you think that I..." Ian Edgerton then proceeded to say over to me with in response. Only for me to cut him off midway through his response.
"Okay where do I begin. Well, you're currently involved in an investigation with one Graybridge Pharmaceuticals. You're currently the fourth best sniper in the world. But more importantly the man you were just speaking with just saved one cattle rancher Bob McHugh from being shot with a high caliber sniper bullet. Now then, what else would you like me to tell you about next agent Edgerton? Should I give you the winning numbers for the lottery for the next few months? Or should I perhaps let you know of the clear and obvious fact, that when it comes to a certain CalSci mathematician, that professor Eppes is now not the only one, who is able to perform multiple complex calculations? But yet they can perform them, at a faster speed then the current average supercomputer? So here's what I have to offer you and agent Eppes. I can give you with close to 100% accuracy, what you and your colleagues will wind up facing. But mind you, that it will be in the form of bits and pieces. Because some parts will be somewhat vague. And in return, you allow us to be consultants for you, as well as the rest of those that are part of Eppes FBI team. Because I can assure you Ian, that what we have to offer you, is something that you won't find in the usual real world setting. So Ian what do you say? Do we have an accord?" I then proceeded to say back over to agent Edgerton with in response. Which during this, I had then proceeded to hold out my hand in anticipation.
And, as I had intended with my statement, Ian wasted no time in shaking my hand. And as for me, and my response back...
"Good, now then..." I proceeded to start to say. But then...
"McHugh! McHugh listen to me, MCHUGH?!" Another male voice had proceeded to shout out. Which from what I knew, was one FBI agent Don Eppes.
And then...
"Well Ian, shall we now go greet the locals? Because I think that it is now time for me to show you, why you just made one of the best decisions you'll ever make. So minna, shall we?" I now proceeded to say, as I also proceeded to turn behind me and glance at the rest of my allies that were present. Who all simply wound up nodding back to me in response.
And so, a short time later...
"Ian, what took...Wait, who are you guys?" Agent Don Eppes proceeded to ask, as he then took immediate notice of me and the rest of my currently still present allies standing a couple of feet behind Ian.
And as for me, and my response back...
"Well agent Eppes, think of us as consultants for you and your brother. Because I think that you find..." I then proceeded to say. Only for Don Eppes to then proceed to cut me off midway through my response back to him.
"What do you know about my brother?" Don Eppes then proceeded to say back to me in response with. As I then took immediate notice of his facial features then proceeding to tighten up slightly. Which gave me the indication, that he was skeptical on what it was that I had to offer. But that, was about to change...
"Well where do I begin agent Eppes? Ah yes of course, you used to play for a baseball team named the Stockton Rangers. Your brother Charlie Eppes was able to determine the amount of walks you would get just by looking at your stance when you were at bat at the plate. And that agent Eppes is only a fraction of what I know about what you've already been through, and what still awaits you in future cases that you and your team will encounter. So think of me and my allies, as psychics. Only we're what you would call the real deal. So Eppes, if you allow me and my allies to consult for you, and your team. Then we will provide you with unique information, into each of your upcoming cases. So agent Eppes, do we have an accord? Because if I am not mistaken, you have a cattle rancher to round up, am I right?" I then proceeded to say back over to Don Eppes with in response.
And as I had intended...
"Hey Ian, can I talk to you for a second?" Don Eppes then proceeded to glance over to Ian Edgerton with saying.
And as for me...
"Yeah so there isn't time for that right now? Because your person of interest is currently standing in an ammunition and ordinance dumpsite. So unless you both want an unplanned fireworks show, then I suggest that you both save the private conversations, until after he's out of danger and in your custody, okay?" I had then proceeded to say back to both Ian and Don in response with.
And so, another short while later...
"If anyone comes through that gate, the dump goes and the forest goes with it!" The somewhat agitated voice of one Bob McHugh proceeded to say. Which was while he was holding a lit flare stick in one of his hands, and what appeared to be a loaded revolver in the other. And while he was also currently standing on top and in the middle of the ammunition and ordinance dumpsite, that had been mentioned previously.
And then, as for me and the rest of my allies that were still currently present...
"Okay seriously? So this is the big plan you both came up with? You're just going to sit here and hope that he doesn't blow us all up? Because forgive me for saying this, but I don't think that an FBI van is going to do much good against a possible explosion! In fact you know what?..." I now proceeded to say, as I then proceeded to simply stand up, use my athleticism to forward flip over the top of the chain link fence, and then stick the landing on the other side.
And then...
"Why don't I just show you, why you both made the right decision in accepting my terms of agreement," I then proceeded to say, while I also proceeded to glance back towards everyone else who was still on the other side of the chain link fence that I had just proceeded to forward flip over effortlessly.
And then...
"Excuse me Mr. McHugh? I have some information that I think that you'll find useful to your current situation. Did you know that the beef that you have been eating for most of your life is living proof of Graybridge Pharmaceuticals having sold you tainted antibiotics? Now to sump this bit up Mr. McHugh. Graybridge hired a gunman, who shot one of the negotiators during a standoff that you had at your ranch. And they were hoping that you would die in the gunfire. So, why don't we put down that flare, along with your weapon, and we go and reunite you with your wife, hmm?" I proceeded to say to Bob McHugh. And sure enough, my tactic worked.
Because about a minute later, with me then having Bob McHugh escorted out of the dumpsite by both me and agent Eppes. I was now entirely confident, that me and the rest of my still present allies, were now poised to smoothly sail through the rest of the series.
But what I didn't know as of yet, was that we would have quite a long way to go, with regard to our current situation regarding one Aleister Crowley.
"But for now viewers, Shinko here again by the way...*I proceed to say this, while also proceeding to smile with both of my light blue eyes closed. To which I then proceed to open both of them back up again, in order for me to continue, to properly address the viewers*...Now then viewers, as for me and my allies current situation regarding Aleister Crowley? Well we're going to be taking a bit of a break from that. Because with just how many episodes of Numb3rs we will be covering. This is going to be quite the involvement with the tv series. As in the upcoming chapters, will be covering every single episode, from this one, which is Season 2, Episode 22 'Toxin,' to Season 6, Episode 16 'Cause And Effect.' So think of this viewers, as a slightly different retelling of sorts, of the Numb3rs crime drama TV series okay?...*I proceed to say this, while also proceeding to smile with both of my light blue eyes closed. To which I then proceed to open both of them back up again, in order for me to continue, to properly address the viewers*...But anyway viewers for right now, this does once again in fact now currently mark the end of this current chapter. But like always viewers, we will be getting right back into the action in the very next chapter.
